From Bray With Love Mermaid Arts Centre Lunchtime Lecture

Accompanying the “ From Bray With Love “ exhibition in the Mermaid Arts Centre, Main Street, Bray, Co. Wicklow, on view daily until September with short tours taking place between 10 a.m. and 12 Noon on Wednesday mornings this month (July), will be a series of weekly July Wednesday 1pm lunchtime lectures commencing on Wednesday July 4th with a presentation from author, historian and Editor of the Irish Historic Town Atlas on Bray, Ms. Mary Davies, recalling ‘ That Favourite Resort ‘ based on her book of the same name. On Wednesday – July 11th, Bray White, Chairperson of the Bray Cualann Society will present an illustrated presentation ‘ Bray – 40 Years Ago ‘; on Wednesday July 18th Peter Pearson, author, historian and conservator, will speak on ‘ Bray’s Urban Heritage – A Work of Art ‘; concluding on Thursday July 25th with a presentation by James Scannell, Bray, Vice-Chairman & PRO of the Cualann Historical Society looking at ‘ Bray in July & August 1939 – the last Summer before war broke out ‘.
